At Alamdar Peace and Welfare Foundation (APWF), we have not only played a crucial role in advancing education and livelihood—our primary focus areas—but also made significant contributions to improving health and medical infrastructure across the Union Territory (UT) on multiple occasions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, APWF was among the first organizations in Jammu and Kashmir to respond swiftly and effectively to the crisis.
From the very beginning of the lockdown due to the Coronavirus outbreak, APWF launched proactive emergency response efforts. We mobilized local tailors, especially women, to produce 50,000 triple-layered washable face masks and 29,000 sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). In addition, 78,000 units of hand sanitizers, hand gloves, and sanitary napkins were distributed to support frontline workers and communities. These efforts were formally recognized and appreciated by local authorities, including letters of commendation and tweets from the District Development Commissioner and the Mayor of Srinagar City.

In addition to emergency response, APWF regularly organizes health camps across the Union Territory to extend medical care to underserved communities. These camps offer free medical check-ups and essential medicines for individuals from diverse geographical and economic backgrounds.
