Alamdar Peace and Welfare Foundation (APWF) is a registered non-profit organization that has been working since 2001 in the remote, border, and disaster-prone areas of Jammu and Kashmir. APWF is dedicated to uplifting vulnerable communities, particularly persons with disabilities, through targeted programs in Physical Rehabilitation, Inclusive Education, Livelihoods, Disaster Risk Reduction, Public Health, and Skill Development.

Despite operating in a conflict-affected region with limited resources, APWF remains committed to promoting inclusion, dignity, and empowerment for persons with disabilities. The organization delivers its services through a combination of Community-Based and Institution-Based Rehabilitation approaches, in close collaboration with local authorities and grassroots networks.

Over the years, APWF has directly impacted the lives of more than 17,000 individuals and reached over 85,000 indirect beneficiaries. Its services include the distribution of mobility aids, prosthetic and orthotic devices, surgical care, home-based rehabilitation, and the modification of homes to make them more accessible.

Some of the key milestones achieved by APWF include the distribution of over 5,000 assistive devices and 10,000 prostheses/orthoses, providing surgical care to 1,000 individuals, training 7,000 people in home rehabilitation, and making 600 homes accessible for persons with disabilities.

APWF also runs robust livelihood initiatives, especially for women, focusing on education, counseling, skill training, self-help group formation, and microfinance support. These efforts aim to enhance self-reliance and economic independence among marginalized groups.

In addition, the foundation conducts regular programs to raise awareness on public health, child development, human rights, and disaster preparedness, building community resilience and promoting inclusive growth.

The consistent support of donors and well-wishers has played a crucial role in enabling APWF to expand its reach and build sustainable infrastructure. With this backing, APWF continues to provide life-changing services to those who need them the most in some of the most challenging environments.
