Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy plays a vital role in helping individuals lead independent and fulfilling lives. It focuses on enabling people to perform everyday tasks—such as self-care, work, and social participation—through practical and purposeful activities tailored to their specific needs.

At Alamdar Peace and Welfare Foundation, our team of experienced occupational therapists, trained at prestigious institutions, works with individuals of all ages, especially children with disabilities. They help build the skills needed to carry out daily routines and participate more fully in their environments—whether at home, school, work, or in the community.

Our therapists not only teach individuals how to perform tasks independently but also adapt those tasks or environments to make them more accessible. Their goal is to reduce the impact of physical, sensory, or cognitive limitations, helping people reconnect with the activities that matter most to them.

By addressing barriers to independence, occupational therapy supports personal growth, confidence, and overall well-being. The support our therapists provide often leads to life-changing improvements—opening new possibilities, restoring dignity, and giving individuals a renewed sense of purpose.

We deliver occupational therapy services both at our main facility and through Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) programs. For children, we also offer a specialised and well-equipped space where therapy and training are provided in a safe, supportive setting.

Our ADL (Activities of Daily Living) training includes guidance in:

  1. Bathing

  2. Toilet use and sanitation

  3. Dressing

  4. Eating and swallowing

  5. Feeding assistance

  6. Functional mobility (walking independently or using assistive devices)

  7. Maintenance of personal assistive tools

  8. Grooming and personal hygiene
